RE: Legal question: Is a search warrant required for RV entry?

an odd question i would say if you dont want them to search it what are you hiding in there would be there and my question does your firearm protect you from what you are carrying in your trailer do you get where im going most people have no problem with the police searching there vehicles or trailers up in canada anyhow i mean no disrespect to you in your question but if you have nothing to hide dont worry about it and even if they did need a search warrant probable cause is all they really need and if not theyll probably just do it anyhow getting smart with cops and your rights especially when consealled firearms are involved be careful good luck and happy travels rob in canada
We are proud of our freedom in America and have fought hard to protect it. The fact I have nothing to hide is even more reason for me to resent being searched without cause. Jack

RE: Honda snowblowers

Thanks for all the input, I have decided on the honda below since I am not in a snowbelt area, and it is small enough for my wife and 17 year old son to handle if need be. Plus it is small enough to put in the back of my truck to go clear my mothers driveway.
Honda snowblower
Excellent choice. You won't need to push, just a little up pressure on the handle and the rubber auger will dig-in and pull you as fast as you want to go. The Honda HS520A will work great in all types of snow conditions. Jack

RE: Reunion Update (no pic yet)

. But what truly saddened me was how old my class has gotten-not chronologically but attitude. They just acted old.
In my minds eye, my classmates are exactually the same as they were 50 years ago, of course I haven't seen any of them. I don't see any reason to spoil good memories. ;)

RE: SR-71

There was also an experiemental fighter version of the SR 71 - the YF-12. There were only two made (I believe) and the specs on these things were highly classified. I was the White Sands project person for scheduling missile range testing for these in the mid 1960s. The air to air missile it carried was huge. It took half the US to turn the YF 12 it around when it got up to speed so we generally only got one pass over the range each test. One is now in the USAF Museum Annex near the remaining XB 70 and they also have one of the air to air missiles designed for the plane.

There is (if it's still there) one of the SR-71's with a what looks like a YF-12 on it's back in the Boeing Air & Space Museum of Flight in Seattle. A rare sight indeed.

Look a little closer. There's a missile on the back of this one. Jack

RE: 2009 Idaho/Montana trip

The upper panhandle of Idaho is purtty country. There is Lake Pend Oreille you could play on in the boat.
I don't know if things have change there, but when I unloaded my boat, that had a valid Montana Sticker, as soon as it hit the water a sheriff that was observing the whole process in his boat flipped on his "Blue Lights" and issued me a ticket for not having an Idaho Registration on the boat. True Story. Jack
Followup to my post.
I checked the Idaho Boat Registration at this LINK and out of state boats are now exempt for 60 days. Jack

Christmas morning.
There were five of us kids and the folks would wait until we were all asleep on Christmas Eve before they would put-up the tree and put the presents under it. Christmas morning was very special.

RE: SR-71

OP of this topic, started it by mistake, thought I was posting a picture in the "Around the Campfire Photo topic".
The topic has taken some legs and provided many interesting and favorable comments. I would like to add a few of my own. I was assigned to the SR-71 (Blackbird) program from 1966 to 1972. My specialty was an Automatic Flight Control Systems Technician.
How much fuel did the Blackbird drip? I have hundreds of hours under the aircraft performing system checkouts and was dripped on with fuel every time I was under there. However, it's a drip here and a drip there. If you add them all up it would probably equal less than a quart an hour. The fuel was not very flammable, so it wasn't much concern. When it dripped down my neck or on my mouth it felt about like water. It washed out of clothing just fine without any special attention.
Why do the SRs drip fuel and other aircraft don't? The fuel in the SR is not carried in a fuel bladder. Instead, the fuel is pumped directly into the fuselage and wings and is used to help absorb heat buildup from the skin of the plane. This allowed the plane to have a sustained high-speed flight of over Mach 3 that the Russian Foxbat {their fastest aircraft) could never achieve. If it gets dripping too bad a little guy is sent inside and applies a sealant to the seams.
When a VIP comes for a tour, he was always shown the “Start Cart”. This thing had two Buick Wildcat engines connected in series with straight pipes for exhaust. It was directly connected to the SRs’ engine during engine start and than given full throttle for about fifteen seconds. Sounded like a “Big Boys” drag race. Awesome! You could hear it six miles away in base housing.
In one post someone mentioned the Blackbird being called a “Pig” by the maintenance men. In my memory, and it’s been a long time ago, there was one aircraft that seemed to have more than it fair share of malfunctions and aborted missions. One morning the assigned crew chief put some corn still in the husk below the nose of the aircraft indicating it was a pig. The Chief of Maintenance didn’t find it funny and issued a directive that any derogatory action or comments towards the SR will cease immediately, and it did.
The SR was built in total secrecy. General LaMay (Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force) didn’t like the idea of the SR, would have rather put the money into the B-70 Bomber program. When he was briefed on the status of the SR program all he ever said was “it better work or heads are going to roll”.
Lastly, being around the SR, was like being around a living thing. It looked and felt like it wanted to go.

RE: Am I missing something???

My question to the OP.
How do you think your other "nice" neighbor feels about your dogs barking for two hours at the dog running free in the greenbelt?
I would not consider you or your dogs to be a good neighbor if you lived next door to me.
If my dog barks once, for any reason, I put him in the house immediately along with a verbal reprimand. It doesn't matter to me if he barks at a dog running loose or the meter man, in the house he goes.

MANATEE HAMMOCK
7275 South U.S. Highway 1, Titusville, FL 32780
On the shore of the Indian River Lagoon, this 26.45 acre campground is a well shaded and quiet hammock of pines, palms and foilage providing habitat to squirrels, birds, and tropical creatures. The river offers shoreline fishing and a perfect view of space shuttle launches at Kennedy Space Center.
Watched the friday night launch of Endeavour...beautiful and exciting!
